TVXQ Japan 3rd Live Tour “T” Arena
Finally!!!!! My very first TVXQ Tour! My first TVXQ concert! (still excited after 2 weeks…) It really felt like a dream, it went so fast T__T So, here’s the story of Yvonne in DBland.
25th March 2008
Time to fly to Japan, Osaka! Where the first 4 concerts were to take place. Miraculously, I arrived safely at the hotel without getting lost. When I arrived, my 2 friends, Mabel and Sarah already checked in before me and went out to buy the materials to make the uchiwas (japanese fans). What for? You’ll ask me. In Japan, you’re not allowed to hold boards, lightboards (example of a wonderful lightboard designed by me ^^), banners at concerts. You’re only allowed to hold uchiwas. So what we do is buy an uchiwa and customize it.
Quick tutorial on how to make a concert uchiwa:
Materiels needed:
- An uchiwa (you can find it at idols shops or all for 100 yen shops).
- Large black cardboard paper (A3 or bigger).
- Fluorescent colors paper (Yellow is a must-have + a base color of your choice. You can use another color or shiny pattern paper if you want to add a double base).
- LOTS of glue. I would recommend using tape though, it sticks better.
- A pair of scissors and/or cutter.
- A pencil.
- Normal sheets of paper to make the templates.
First off, if the uchiwa is round shape, just cut the black paper to cover the whole uchiwa on both sides. If the uchiwa is not round (like ours =_=), cut 2 rounds in the black paper, same size as the uchiwa or slightly bigger. Stick the papers on both sides of the uchiwa. Then, draw/print the letters, texts, drawings you want to put on your uchiwas on the normal papers. These will be your templates to cut in the colored papers. Warning: the papers are only colored on one side so make sure you don’t cut the letters in the wrong side! (yes, yes, I speak from experience). Cut the letters in the yellow paper and the base in the other colors paper. Stick everything nicely on the black uchiwa. Tada, here’s the result!
Sorry for the bad state of my uchiwa but it already went through 5 concerts and was crushed in my overpacked suitcase on my way home. Extra Korean lesson: on the left, it is written JunSu and on the right, Belgium (Bel Ki Eh). Yessss, I know it’s kinda fangirly and meant for young teenage fans to make this kind of things (in Europe) but it’s totally normal here >_> Anyway, who cares, it’s fun ^^ But it took us hours to make these things!
Edit: forgot to mention something important. We ate at Shin Shin Ramen shop ^^

Sorry, I’m tired, will continue this later, 미안! ^^;;;;
————— LA SUITE —————–
I won’t say much about the concerts, I don’t want to spoil it for the other people ^^ Besides, I have a really bad memory… Cameras are strictly forbidden in Japan so I didn’t take any pictures of the concert. I will borrow some pictures from the wonderful fans who risked their concert to take pics.
Pics of the venue in Yokohama (because this doesn’t look like Osaka to me…): ONE - TWO (Credits to Baidu, I don’t know who)
My Fukuoka ticket *points to seat number* Arena ROW 8 SEAT 10!
My goods receipt with a message from one of the member (Junsu on this one)
27th March 2008
2nd Osaka concert (Seat Stand B row 5, closer than 1st day but it’s on the left)
The 2nd concert was my favourite (besides Fukuoka because of our seats). They did a lot of different things and more interactions with the fans.
28th March 2008
No concert that day but there was an event at Universal Studios Japan ^^ TVXQ has been named Goodwill Ambassador for Asia by USJ. The ceremony was to take place at Universal Studios in Osaka and we got tickets thanks to my good friends <33
Me at USJ ^^
29th March 2008
3rd concert (Seat Arena row 32 seat 4, bad seat!).
I was sitting by myself that night so it was less fun because I couldn’t spazz at all but still a great concert ^^
30th March 2008
Last concert in Osaka (Seat Stand G row 12, good seat!).
That night, I think Yoochun saw our uchiwas so we were very happy ^^
31st March 2008
No concert that day but heading to Fukuoka for the next concert!
1st April 2008
Last concert of our DB trip, in Fukuoka T___T
That night was the best because hey row 8!!! and seat 10!!! It’s hard to explain where it was exactly but believe me, it’s a golden seat. Mabel and I had a blast. Maybe we were a little bit too crazy and excited compared to the Japanese fans who are very polite and calm in general but yeah it was a lot of fun. I will spare you the details about the boys seeing our uchiwas, etc. But during Last Angel…!! (this is just a reminder for myself)
2nd April 2008
Direction Tokyo for a last day of DB tour! We had several missions to accomplish that day: go to Avex, visit Frangipani Café (where the boys shot a photobook), eat at Hakata Ippudo Ramen shop, buy pictures in Harajuku, go to Tower Records in Shibuya, eat at the Korean restaurant for which we didn’t have the address nor the name… But we managed to complete all the missions even the hardest one with our bad sense of orientation and non-existent Japanese knowledge!
3rd April 2008
Time to say goodbye and go home T____T Thank you girls for the wonderful trip, I had such a GREAT time with you all!! Because seeing the boys is one thing but if you can’t share it with good friends then it’s not fun at all! Let’s do that again soon <3
Ok, pictures time!
Pretty girls with pretty boys XD
Me with the Tohoshinki MasterCard ad ^^V
At the restaurant after last Osaka concert. We sang karaoke till 5am that night ^^
In Fukuoka with the tour trucks. Why are you parked so far, Junsu? ><
It’s important to mention that in Fukuoka, there were lots of fanboys! Osaka too actually. And lots of fans who are more than 40 years old. I was queuing for the bus at the Fukuoka concert and someone was tugging at my pink towel. I turned around and saw a woman around 60 years old (I’m sure she was at least that!) and she told me the towel is kawaii! (cute)
The day before the Fuku concert, Mabel and I had the great idea to buy those weird colored stockings that are so popular in Japan to wear at the concert. She bought yellow but didn’t wear them in the end! But I do kinda like the purple ones. Aah… Junsu, you handsome boy! ^^
Ok, Tokyo now! Proof that we completed all the missions.
1. Visit Avex
Done!
2. Go to Frangipani Cafe
Done!
3. Eat at Hakata Ippudo Ramen Shop
Done!
4. Buy pictures at Harajuku. Errr… didn’t take picture of this. But this pic was taken in Harajuku >
Done!
5. Go to Tower Records in Shibuya
Done!
6. Eat at the Korean restaurant and drink Ultimate Xiah
Done!
I know this post wasn’t really interesting for non-fans of TVXQ, I’m sorry >< To make up for it, here’s something I’m sure you’ll enjoy. I went to eat seafood with my mom when she came to visit me in Korea. Yummy! XD

Hi hi,
Feeling a little bit down these days, probably because final exams are coming and because of other stuff too…
It has already been 2 months that I’ve been in Korea. I miss Belgian food so much! And I miss driving my car *sigh* I had a dream last night that I was at school in Korea and they had chocolate bread (couque au chocolat) next to the coffee machine. I was so happy! But I knew it was a dream so I was telling myself I’ll drive to the supermarket to buy some when I wake up. But when I woke up, I realized I was in Korea and had no car and the supermarket doesn’t have chocolate bread. What a nightmare! Something else I realized they don’t have here is fresh baked bread! The kind that becomes hard as a rock after 2 days if you don’t put it in a plastic bag. And they don’t have salami. Don’t ask me why I suddenly have a craving for salami. But let’s stop talking about food, it’s going to get me even more depressed T___T I should think about Ced who’s starving in his van (I’m starving too but just because I’m too lazy to go buy food XD).
Bathroom and toilets
Another thing that shocked me when I arrived in Korea is the shower. I don’t know how to explain. Let’s say that there’s no bathtub, no shower, no curtain. The whole bathroom is the shower!
As you can see in the mirror, the toilet is just behind. But I must admit that it becomes quite enjoyable when you get used to it. And they actually do have bathroom with a bathtub in bigger houses. These kind of bathroom are made to save space.
Since we are in the bathroom talk, remember I told you about the toilet paper that cannot be flushed in the toilet? Well, it’s TRUE! In most of the public toilets (restaurants included), you have to throw your paper in a rubbish bin (which doesn’t have a cover most of the time). So you must wonder, mmh then you can see the other people’s…. hum yeah, you can. So remember to fold the paper nicely to hide all kinds of things that should remain unseen. At first, it’s hard to have the reflex of not throwing the paper in the toilet. Not that it’s a big matter if you accidentally throw it in, just flush the toilet normally, it will still go down (unless you used a lot, then it might get stuck -__-). To be honest, I’m getting used to it. So I asked my Korean exchange teacher why they do that? And she said it’s because public toilets usually use cheap toilet paper that can’t melt easily in the water so it gets easily stuck.
Korean girls don’t feel cold
Winters in Korea are VERY cold. I always thought Belgium was cold but after experiencing Korea’s winter, I think Belgium is really warm. There was one day, it was -15°c and it felt so cold I almost couldn’t move. But then even in this cold, you can see lots of girls wearing mini-skirts! And even worse, they don’t wear stockings! Have you heard this saying ‘You must suffer to be pretty’ or ‘I want beauty, I don’t want life’? It leads to another subject of discussion. Are plastic surgeries really common in Korea? I’m not sure about this but I know that if you go to Apgujeong, the plastic surgeries institutes are shown on the subway map XD
The cellphone nightmare
Who would have thought it’d be so troublesome to buy a cellphone in Korea? In Korea, they don’t use SIM card which means if you buy a phone in Korea, you can’t really use it in other countries. Also, you don’t buy any phones you want. Let me explain how it works, it’s quite complicated. In Korea, you have different telecom companies (SK, KT, LG) like Proximus, Base, Mobistar. Every time a new phone is released, it’s a different one for each companies. For example, you want to buy a phone but it’s only released for LG so in order to buy this phone, you must have your contract under LG. If later on you want to buy another phone that’s only released for SK or KT, you must get a new contract under these companies and probably change phone number unless they allow you to transfer your number. At least, that’s what I understood. Till now, it’s still a bit blurry for me.
Then what’s better in Korea?
- Fast internet connection
- Lots of convenience stores open 24/7 BUT I think it reduces the number of supermarkets which is bad.
- Subway system is really well done. You can go anywhere in Seoul by subway. Having a car is more troublesome because there are few parking places in Korea.
- They have 노래방 (noraebang= karaoke). And not the kind with only songs from the 60’s and you sing in front of all the customers having a drink in the cafe. You have a personal room and they have all the latest songs. Usually 7000 won (around 5 €)/hour but they add you lots of time for free. There are some cheaper where it’s 5000 won/70min but they don’t add extra time.
- In Korea, you wear what you want, people don’t care. Actually the more trendy, the better. That’s one of the things I like most in Korea.
- Every time you buy a CD, they give you a poster for free <3
- You can get a nice haircut for 10000 won (7 €).
- Nightlife! Shops don’t close at 6pm. Most of the shops stay open until 9pm-10pm. And if you go to Dongdaemun, you can shop until 5am.
Picture time! Let me share some random pictures of Korea with you.
I saw this while walking back from papa’s restaurant in Ilsan. Very pretty! (A lot prettier in real, I suck at taking pictures T__T)
Belgium is not as unknown as we think. Belgium waffles are very famous in Korea! It’s super expensive though and it actually doesn’t look like Belgian waffles at all. Taken in Apgujeong (love this place <3)
After a snowy day. This is the main entrance of my dorm, on the left.
My room. (Just noticed Junsu (my mini dog)’s head is sticking out, cute ^^)
Pretty! Taken somewhere between Myeongdong and Hoehyeon.
Don’t remember where it was but thought it was interesting.
Voilà! It’s over for today. Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Next time will probably be a dongbang centered post (it’s been a long time).

Waaaah… the last weeks have been really busy and I’ve been too lazy to write in this blog. I’m so behind with all my stories. This week, it was Lunar New Year and I had 3 days off on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Lunar New Year is a very important celebration in Korea, everyone goes back to their hometown to celebrate with their family. So, during those 3 days, Seoul is kinda deserted, most of the shops are closed (especially on Thursday and Friday). Coex was still open on Thursday though, YAY! On Monday and Tuesday, I had my mid-term exams. I don’t have the results yet but I think I did well. I was too nervous for the oral so it wasn’t as good as the writing part ><
So, where did I stop in my previous post? Ah yeah, back to Tokyo! In this post, I will just comment on my pictures because I already forgot the details of my trip… (goldfish memory >_>)
Here’s Shibuya! I wanted to go to Shibuya mainly because I wanted to see Hachiko, the famous dog. This dog used to go every day at the Shibuya station to greet his master back from work. Even after his master died, the dog kept going to the Shibuya station and wait for him every day at the same time. He did that for 10 years until his death T___T
Roppongi! Roppongi is the place to go at night. So yeah, you’re probably wondering what I was doing there during daytime…). The answer is just because…
… I take crappy pics at night -__-;
Finally a food pic! Japanese steak! I want to eat Japanese food again!
This next pic is not interesting but there’s a story behind it. It was late at night, around 1am I think? There’s this place where you wait for cabs. My friends and I waited for almost 2 hours!! See the people on the right? They were all waiting behind us.
No, this is not cabbage (or maybe it is!) but street flowers…
Was this in Harajuku? I don’t remember :/ Crowded again…
In Tokyo, we went twice to the karaoke. It’s so much fun!! They have all the latest songs and you have your own private room so even if you sing bad, it’s ok XD The second time we went, we stayed until 5am. It was just after we went to eat Korean food.
The Korean restaurant is one of the 2 restaurants the db boys always go when they are in Japan. They even had cocktails with special names dedicated to them.
There was a giant screen in the restaurant and we asked the staff if they had TVXQ songs and they showed the new Japan tour DVD ^^ The owner even told us where Micky used to sit when he comes here haha
On the last day, we finally went to the Ramen Museum! The paradise of Ramen. (Lots of pictures!)
The place was decorated like the ancient streets of Japan.
They have several ramen restaurants there where you can try ramen from different areas. Here’s the 1st first one we went, the ramen was really delicious!
We left the Museum at 9:30pm and I ate 2 bowls of ramen, 1 popsicle, drank 1 soda and 1 bottle of milk. Later that night, around 11pm, we went to eat Korean food again at another restaurant then the one we went last time ^^;; Even though I wasn’t hungry at all, it was the last day and it was part of our Japan tour.
This pic was taken at the restaurant.
So, that’s how my Japan trip 2007 ended. It was really fun even though very tiring. An advice, don’t wear heels! XD Also, stuff are quite expensive there. Shopping is not as tempting as Korea so it’s ok. Food is very good! Toilets are very comfy with heated seat. I arrived there with a bad impression of Japan and left with a really good one ^^

Hello~
How’s everyone? As promised, I’ll write about my 10 days (dongbang) trip in Japan in this post. Brace yourself, it’s going to be a long post!
- 21-22 December 2007: Departure to Tokyo, Japan! With my 2 friends, Miya and Helen. The day before we went to buy new suitcases (rolling carry-ons) in Dongdaemun (famous shopping place open until 5am!).
Helen and I flew JAL together from Incheon while Miya was on another flight. We arrived at the airport of Narita at around 12pm.
First thing we needed to do is to go get our Japan Rail Pass that allows you to ride on the JR lines. It’s a pass made for foreigners, you have to buy it in your country before going to Japan. It costs around 200€. So, it looks like this: [picture]. My friends and I called it our VIP pass. We just flash it to the controller and we can pass the gates, so cool XD After that, we reserved train seats (for “free” because of the JR pass) to go to Tokyo (I was really confused because I thought Narita was in Tokyo but seems like it’s not =x). We managed to miss our train so we ended up taking the next one but since we had no more reserved seats, we were just standing during the whole trip… So, what happened next… oh yeah, because I left Korea, my student visa has been cancelled so I needed to go to the Korean embassy to get another one. But the embassy was closed! It only opens in the morning for visa application. It seems easy when I tell the story now but believe me, we almost died going here and there, lugging all our stuff, especially in the subway where they love stairs and hate escalators. It’s intensive exercise every day! First 2 days in Tokyo, we stayed at Miya’s friend’s house in Saitama. Thanks again Sabrina for having us! We finally had a 12 hours sleep but it wasn’t enough to catch up the lack of sleep we had the days before. In 3 days, I only slept like 3-4 hours! Adrenaline can really give you superhuman powers. We went to Tokyo first because Miya wanted to go to the L’Arc-en-Ciel concert, her first love, on the 22nd. It’s a Japanese rock band and Miya is in love with the singer, Hyde (Miya, you traitor! XD). I wanted to save money so I didn’t go. Instead I went to the cinemas on my own and watched a japanese movie, Bleach: The Diamond Dust Rebellion XD And no, I don’t understand Japanese at all! =x Hitsugaya was cool though ^^
- 23 December 2007 (TVXQ fanmeeting day 1): Osaka, here we come! Osaka is 3 hours away from Tokyo with the Shinkansen (bullet train). We bought bentos to eat on the train.
This one is fake eels (don’t ask me what they used to replace the eels O_O):
Oh, I forgot to mention that Japan’s weather was less cold than Korea, it was almost warm! Here are some pictures of Osaka because everyone loves pictures <3 And because my friends like to take lots of random pics.
Osaka from the train:
Osaka at night:
The THSK (because in Japan, you say Tohoshinki for Dong Bang Shin Ki) fanmeeting was today and we were dead tired! The rest of the story is confidential so I’ll not talk about it. To make it short, my tragic love story followed me once again.
- 24 december 2007: We stayed one more day in Osaka to visit. Osaka is the place to eat: takoyaki, okonomiyaki, giant crabs and other stuff. I wanted to go eat giant crabs! But we didn’t go in the end T___T We met up with some friends and went shopping.
And eat okonomiyaki (please disregard the thing written on it).
We took a picture with the Bioman (I blurred my friend’s face because I don’t know if she wants her face to be posted online =x)
Fake food! Every restaurants have fake food in the front as presentation.
We ate crêpes! It’s so delicious!! (sorry I don’t have a clear picture of the crêpe itself, I was too busy eating it >_>)
More pictures of [Osaka], [Osaka again], [giant crabs that we didn’t eat T__T], some host guys (gigolos) that I better not post so I’m not posting (there are lots in Japan!). Oh I have a story about this. We were walking on the streets and saw gigolos and my friends and I wanted to take a picture of them so I tried to take one from afar but they noticed me and one of them started walking my way O_O So, I ran away XD
Ok, so after that, we went to eat shabu shabu.
And take puri pictures (purikura). Miya needs to scan them for me so I’ll post them later.
The hotel in Osaka was so cool! We had a japanese style room meaning we sleep on the floor (tatami) and futons. You might think that it’s hard and uncomfortable but it’s actually VERY comfortable! I want to make a room like that in my house when I go back in Belgium =x And the room was so big!

Hi everyone!
I’m back to Seoul from my 10 days trip in Japan! I didn’t have time to write anything before because it was a crazy trip! So much to tell, I don’t know where to start.
(Next part will be written in French for my friends in Belgium ^_~)
- 18 décembre 2007, 14h30: Je prends l’avion à Zaventem pour Séoul, Incheon. J’ai une escale de 3h à Frankfurt. C’est ma maman et ma grand-mère qui m’accompagnent à l’aéroport. I miss you already mom!!
In my next post…

Here’s finally a post about my trip to Korea. So, how did all this begin? I will spare you my reasons for going there because it’s complicated. Let’s just say that I chose Korea because it’s a country that attracts me. I also love the language, it’s very beautiful and flows so well. People are incredibly nice and I’m really interested in learning more about their culture.
With that said, let’s talk about more concrete stuff. First I needed to chose a university where to study Korean. Almost all uni in Korea offer korean language programs for foreigners, so it wasn’t hard to find one. But which one to choose? The one I’ve heard most often was Yonsei. It is one of the most well-known uni in Korea so most people go there. But me being the picky girl I am XD, I didn’t want to share a common bathroom and toilets =x Especially after I read some Yonsei students say that they can’t flush the paper in the toilets… which is most unlikely but we never know! So I looked for a few more schools and found Ewha, a women’s university (but their language programs also accept guys). And it’s quite exceptional, they have single dorm rooms with personal bathroom and toilets! lol So it was quickly decided, I chose Ewha. The staff working there is really nice, they reply to emails really fast and are really willing to help you! I sent in my subscription for the 1st term (jan 2008 - mar 2008), I’ll just skip all the details because it’s boring and long to explain but if you want more details for your own trip, leave me a comment and I’ll contact you if I have time XD.
Next step, apply for a visa. What I need is a D-4 visa that allows me to study in Korea for a period of more than 90 days. BUT complication, the Korean Embassy told me I needed an Admission Letter from my school that certifies that I will study for more than 3 months, meaning I already have to apply for the 2 terms >< So now I’m RUINED T___T
I’ll have more to tell but I’ll end here for now ^^

I wasn’t going to make a post about this but the new AnyCall CF is so great that I had to write about it! So the AnyBand CF starring Xiah Junsu <3, Boa, Tablo and Jin Bora (pianist prodigy) is finally out!
The concept is about a city where people are forbidden to talk, play and love but 4 young rebels will overthrow this regime with music. I really love the songs in this CF, I won’t be able to define the genre because I suck at this =x The CF is really nice but I hope they’ll push the concept further and have other parts (so we can see more Junsu hotness ^^). I’ll love AnyCall forever for making this CF! I need someone to spazz with me! Why is nobody online?? T___T Anyway (hey, they can use that name for their next CF, AnyWay XD), enough drools and nosebleeding for today, I’ll try to write about my Korean trip in my next post. See ya!

I finally bought my new domain name! Rainy-night.com like the title of Junsu’s Japanese solo song. Really lovely song.
Speaking of Junsu, remember he went to Brazil in September to film a CF for Anycall? Well, the CF will be released next week! Here’s the official website for this CF: http://www.anycall.com/event/anyband/event_main.jsp

I’m currently following Korean courses in Brussels. I’m in the intermediate level and I must say it’s quite hard. At today’s courses, I was so tired and sleepy that I couldn’t understand anything. We were seeing the days and months and this is the lesson I skipped when I learned on my own XD So, I was a bit lost. We also learned the past tense, there are so many so, sso and yo but it’s ok, still easy to understand. Next week is holiday, so no courses. I really want to know how to speak Korean!!! But my level is so low and I have the feeling it’ll take me a looong time to improve =x If only the dongbang boys can teach me, it’ll boost me more XD Ok, I’m gonna stop with the nonsense. My colleagues are the only ones reading this blog right now and they don’t understand my craziness, or maybe they do =x *waves*
It’s starting to get cold here in Belgium. 6°C this morning and my lips are already chapped. I don’t know why my lips are so sensitive, it’s bothersome. I heard Korea is even colder in winter :/ I’ll have to bring lots of sweaters and probably buy a new coat (yay for new coat ^^). And a scarf! I want a scarf.
Anyway, that’s all for today, I’ll end with these words I learned and because it’s almost winter and you all have to be careful not to catch a cold!
